NWTGR First 4 Firearm Rules

Each Student on our Firearms courses will be tested on their knowledge and practicality on the basic 4 Rules when handeling a firearm. These rules are in place to keep everyone on and off the range SAFE. Failing just 1 of these rules can result in serious injury and potential death.

Follow them & RESPECT them.

  1. Muzzle awareness

  2. Safety selector

  3. Trigger discipline

  4. Knowing your target and beyond

 

The 4 rules explained

  1. Muzzle awareness: Always keep the muzzle away from any persons and avoid FLAGGING/muzzling/sweeping

  2. Safety Selector always on: The safety is be always kept on unless you are on target

  3. Trigger Discipline: Trigger fingers are always to be kept in the “index” position unless firing

  4. Knowing your target and beyond: Bullets travel through things. Know what is beyond the target
